Purple Flowering Wallflower – Erysimum ‘Bowles Mauve’

Bowles Mauve Wallflower (Erysimum ‘Bowles Mauve’) is a treat to grow in spots where other less hardy plants might have a difficult time getting established. Erysimum is tolerant of ph neutral to moderately alkaline soils, and once established is nicely drought resistant.

The silvery green foliage is graced with a long show of beautiful little purple flowers, with the display beginning in the spring, and lasting through autumn. The leaves are unbothered by deer and rabbits, but the long-lasting floral display attracts all kinds of pollinating insects and hummingbirds. Trimming the plant after the blooms fade for the season will keep the shape tidy.
