A riot of small white to pink flowers bloom nearly year-round on the Santa Barbara Daisy. This trailing perennial forms a mound nearly 2’ tall by 3’ wide and is a hardy ground cover for sun and partial shade. Cold hardy to 15° F, gardeners appreciate Erigeron for its cheerful, pollinator-friendly blooms as well as its drought tolerance, salt spray tolerance, and resistance to deer.
The Santa Barbara Daisy needs little maintenance to thrive, but for best results, plant in well-drained, fertile soil, and cut back in the winter to keep the plant tidy. A recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit, use the Santa Barbara Daisy in cottage, coastal, Mediterranean and rock gardens, and trailing down planters or over walls.
