Netleaf Oak (Quercus rugosa)

Deciduous tree with a broad, columnar form. Obovate leaves are leathery, lustrous, and dark green. The edges of each leaf curve under, this feature combined with the prominent veining on each leaf’s underside gives the tree its common name. Scaly acorns emerge in fall. Bark is silvery brown and exfoliates with age. Extremely cold hardy. Native to Mexico.
